Ligia R's Story

Year Diagnosed: 2006
Type of Cancer: endometrial

Regular medical check-ups are so key to identifying any potential cancer early. I am 47 and lucky to have found two excellent female doctors that ordered an ultrasound test and then a biopsy. So within a month of my physical a hysterectomy was done. Faith, the support of family and friends, and reaching out to socialize has helped minimize depression. Even more important is to talk about your feelings with your loved ones so they can understand better how to help, especially when you are almost done with treatments and you are not so driven by adrenaline. You are never alone. There are always people that are willing to help if you reach out.
