I am 52 with no family history. I was diagnosed with stage 1 ductal carcinoma in situ 10 months ago. I have undergone (with some complications) 5 operations for its treatment and reconstruction in the past 10 months. I will be able though to attend and begin my support for the National Breast Cancer Awareness walk this October in Phoenix. Education and REGULAR check-ups (aside from hope for "the cure") are our best weapons—so ladies make those appointments. Live spiritually...
