HOW WE TREAT INFORMATION THAT YOU SEND TO US
This is how we will handle information we learn about you from your visit to our web site. The information we receive depends upon what you do when visiting our site. If you visit our site to read or download information, we collect and store only the following information about you: the name of the domain from which you access the Internet (for example, aol.com, if you are connecting from an America Online account); the date and time you access our site; and the Internet address of the web site from which you linked directly to our site. We use the information we collect to measure the number of visitors to the different sections of our site, and to help us make our site more useful to visitors.
You also may decide to send us personally identifying information, for example, in an electronic mail message or by voluntarily disclosing that information by submitting a message to the Wall of Hope. We may use personally identifying information from you to respond to your inquiries or for other internal business purposes, but we do not sell or rent that information to third parties. You should be aware, however, that notwithstanding our security measures it is always possible that others may surreptitiously obtain unauthorized access to such information and use it, though any such use would be without our consent. We want to be very clear: We will not obtain personally identifying information about you when you visit our site, unless you choose to provide such information to us.
Please remember that information other than personally identifying information provided to the Women's Cancer Network by you will not be treated as confidential. Do not send or post anything that you deem confidential or proprietary. Any feedback, data, answers, questions, comments, suggestions, ideas, or the like which you send to us (and are not personally identifying in nature) may be used by WCN or its affiliates for any purpose, including but not limited to, reproduction, disclosure, transmission, publication, broadcast, and posting. The Women's Cancer Network is free to use, without any compensation to you, any ideas, concepts, know-how, or techniques contained in any communication you send to the site for any purpose whatsoever, including but not limited to developing, manufacturing and marketing products and/or services using such information.
THE WALL OF HOPE AND OTHER INTERACTIVE AREAS
You may also decide to send personally identifying information to WCN, its Partners, or to other users in the Wall of Hope or other interactive areas. Any information disclosed by you is public and is not confidential or proprietary. You have no expectation of privacy for information publicly disclosed by you. Disclosure of any personal information is done at your own risk and WCN has no obligation to maintain such information in confidence and is in no manner liable for any disclosure or use of such information by WCN, its Partners, users, or other third persons.
PARTNERS
WCN enters into financial partnerships with other organizations to help provide a broader range of services to our users. These partners are carefully selected and must be willing to comply with our site policies and adhere to the Health on the Net Code of Conduct. We will not share personal information about individual WCN users with our Partners. If a user elects to use one of our Partners' services, the user may elect to share that information.
