Dr. Gershenson became Chairman of Gynecologic Cancer Foundation in 2009.  He also is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Gynecologic Oncology and J. Taylor Wharton, M.D. Distinguished Chair in Gynecologic Oncology at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and earned his medical degree at Vanderbilt School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee. Following a year of internship at The University of Iowa Hospitals, he completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Yale-New Haven Hospital and a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center.

Dr. Gershenson is recognized as an international expert in the area of ovarian cancer and has been listed in "The Best Doctors in America" in American Health magazine, Good Housekeeping's "Best Doctors in America for Women," "America's Top Doctors" in Castle Connolly's Guide, in Woodward & White's "Best Doctors in America," and in the Guide to America's Top Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Dr. Brown is associate attending surgeon, Gynecology Service, Memorial Hospital, and associate member Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, New York. She chairs the Communications Committee, Gynecologic Cancer Foundation.

Dr. Brown's research focuses on screening and prevention of cervical and ovarian cancers, and the reduction and elimination of cancer health disparities experienced by medically underserved populations. Since 2005 she has served as the Director of the Office of Diversity Programs in Clinical Care, Research, and Training at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

Dr. Brown received her medical degree from Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Pennsylvania and a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering.
