GCAM Resources
August 2010
Dear GCF Supporters:
GCF again looks forward to working with you to provide important messages about research and the prevention , early detection and optimal treatment of women’s cancer during September, Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month. Since GCF first declared GCAM in 1999 and each year thereafter, GCF and the advocacy community have reached millions of women with important women’s cancer information provided by use of this annul toolkit. This messaging has been amplified by the ovarian cancer advocacy community that observes September as ovarian cancer awareness month.
This September and throughout the remainder of the year, GCF is focusing its messaging on the role of clinical trials in improving the future for women who are at risk or who are diagnosed with a gynecologic cancer. We hope that the that the 2010 GCAM Toolkit that describes the Phase III clinical trials currently enrolling women by GOG, one of the National Cancer Institute's (NCI) funded cooperative cancer research group---and the only group focusing solely on women diagnosed with a gynecologic cancer.
The GCAM Toolkit contains a PDF of an ad that promotes this Web resource that we ask that you distribute at your events. We also call your attention to our new brochure, “The Gynecologic Cancer Foundations Answers Questions about Clinical Trials.” Copies can be ordered to share with women in your community.
Should you need additional resources or information, please feel free to contact GCF Headquarters at 312.578.1439. The kit and forms may also be viewed and printed from GCF’s Web site, www.thegcf.org, and from the Women’s Cancer Network site, www.wcn.org.
