It is hard to believe that our SGO/GCF Annual Meeting is just around
the corner. Below you will find a preview of some of the activities which
GCF has planned:

Allied
Support Group Meeting: GCF is once again hosting a meeting on Friday
with leaders from the various ovarian and cervical cancer advocacy organizations,
NCI, OWH, CDC, SGNO and others. This semiannual conference has helped
coordinate our efforts to educate lay and professional people about
gynecologic cancers, provide support for those afflicted with gynecologic
cancer, and help raise awareness in Washington DC. Development of the
Ovarian
Cancer National Resource List, the Ovarian Cancer Survivor Course
at the SGO Meeting, and our Gynecologic
Oncology Slide Kit For Medical Professionals are three examples
of the fruits of this labor.
Annual
Meeting Media Campaign: GCF has hired a team of public relations
specialists to disseminate information about our meeting, specialty
and most newsworthy abstracts to the local and national media markets.
Based upon our past experience, GCF is confident that our 2001 media
outreach will continue to make our outreach efforts successful!

New
Hometown Radio Program: GCF is sponsoring an innovative program
giving members the chance to spread the word about gynecologic cancers
over their hometown radio stations. Members will be interviewed using
a prepared script and they are guaranteed two free placements in their
hometown. Each interviewee will also receive a CD of their interview.
Participation is based on a first come first serve basis and space is
limited. You can sign up for this opportunity on the SGO Annual Meeting
registration form or call GCF Headquarters for more information.
Leap
for GCF: If you haven't already done so, sign up for the Leap for
GCF annual run/walk which will be held on Sunday morning of the meeting.
This is a great way to start the meeting off on the right foot and to
also show your support for GCF. Refreshments and a T-shirt will be provided.
GCF
Booth: Stop by the GCF Booth and SGO web café to check out
the Women's Cancer Network, to pick up GCF educational materials, or
to obtain more information about your Foundation.
GCF
Business Meeting: Plan to attend the GCF Business Meeting midday
Monday to learn about GCF projects and activities planned for 2001 and
beyond. GCF leadership will be prepared to answer your questions and
will also highlight our achievements from 2000.
Thank
You: Our "You and Your Contribution Make Twice The Difference"
2000 Donor Drive was a great success. We will update you on the outcome
at the GCF Business Meeting and announce our Donor Drive plans for 2001.
