Atairgin Technologies and Fujirebio Diagnostics Agree to Match Member Donations
GCF's Donor Drive for 2000 began as "You and Your $ 100 Makes a Difference." Now thanks to the generosity of Atairgin Technologies' $ 25,000 contribution and Fujirebio Diagnostics' $ 5,000 contribution, "You and Your $100 Makes a $ 200 Difference!" Atairgin Technologies and Fujirebio Diagnostics will match every dollar our members donate up to $ 30,000. The GCF appreciates the commitment these companies have to quality cancer care for women. We are sure our members will demonstrate a similar commitment in their support when it comes to their charitable giving.

GCAM Publicity Kits Mailed
By now, you should have received our 2000 Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month (GCAM) Publicity Kit. Use this kit to begin planning your GCAM activities now. In support of GCAM activities, GCF headquarters has mailed out over 10,000 educational brochures within the last month upon request from our members and supporters. Do not hesitate to call GCF Headquarters if you have any questions or if you need suggestions or help in planning your GCAM activities.

"Award of Excellence"
Your hard work and commitment to GCF continues to be nationally recognized. GCF initiated and sponsored GCAM activities have received "The Award of Excellence" by the American Society of Association Executives as part of their Associations Advancing America Awards Program. GCAM was selected out of nearly 300 programs nominated for this award. GCAM was also named a Silver Trumpet Award winner by the Chicago Publicity Society, an organization which represents Chicago's top public relations firms.

Barbara Walters and Co-hosts of The View Demonstrate Commitment to GCAM
The View is the popular show where issues and topics of importance to real women are discussed in a forum. The View appears on ABC from 11:00 am — Noon EST and has been the highest rated show for ABC in that time period since the 1993-1994 season. In support of GCAM, Barbara Walters and the other co-hosts of this daytime talk show have agreed to appear on our GCAM 2000 poster. Copies of this poster will be mailed in July to all SGO/GCF members and supporters. A colored copy of the poster will also appear in ACOG's September newsletter. Gynecologic Cancer Slide Set
The Gynecologic Cancer Slide Set and CD Rom is in its final stages of preparation and will be mailed to all members of SGO/GCF in early August. This slide set will be a useful asset to GCF members for GCAM and their other outreach activities. We are confident you will be thrilled with the outcome!

Deadlines for Research Grants and Awards

July 15, 2000 - Deadline for GCF/NCI Training Fellowship Program applications.

August 31, 2000 - All research grant applications must be received in GCF Headquarters by this date to be eligible for the grant period January 1-December 31, 2001. Please refer to GCF's 2000-2001 Research Grants/Awards Booklet for details on these awards.
