GCF Media Presentation Meeting Held In Washington DC
Several GCF members along with representatives from the Office on Women's Health, Center for Disease Control, National Cancer Institute and advocate organizations met at SGO Headquarters in Washington in December 1999 to develop what will be a gynecologic cancer presentation geared toward primary care physicians. GCF Headquarters will be mailing a kit containing slides, CD/ROM and color narrative script to all members of SGO in June to launch GCAM 2000. This presentation will also be available on the GCF website to download from your computer. Watch your mail for this important presentation package.

2000 Public Service Award Winners
Judith Reichman, MD, Medical writer for the Today Show and Kia Simon an ovarian cancer survivor have been selected as GCF's 2000 Public Service Award Winners. Doctor Reichman will receive her award on Monday, February 7, 2000 during SGO's Annual Meeting and Ms. Simon will receive her award at her home in California. GCF is grateful to both of these individuals for their outstanding contributions of helping to raise awareness about gynecologic cancers.

GCF Announces 2000 Grants and a Young Investigators Award
GCF will be sending out announcements for 2 ovarian cancer research grants and announcing a new young investigators award. Watch your mail for details on these most important announcements.

Annual Meeting Coming Soon

As you know, the SGO/GCF Annual Meeting is just around the corner. GCF has the following activities planned; annual meeting of the ovarian cancer advocacy group leaders, a lunch and learn seminar for Marriott employees, annual meeting media campaign and on-site newsroom, informational center in exhibit hall, annual 5 K Leap for GCF walk/run, and ovarian cancer survivor course. Be sure to attend GCF's Business Meeting on Monday, February 7, 2000 to learn about GCF's 1999 successes and plans for 2000.
