G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Career Development Award
$50,000/ Per Year for 2 Years Award

Principal investigators who apply for this grant
must be Full, Candidate or Associate Members of the Society of Gynecologic
Oncologists (SGO). |

This two-year award is intended for junior faculty
at the Assistant Professor level, who are conducting cancer research
at an academic institution. |

This award promotes important transitional support
for direct research expenses as researchers move from the ranks of
young investigator to faculty senior status. |
| • |
Quality research in studies relating to issues
affecting women with breast cancer or at risk for breast cancer. These
projects could include but are not limited to genetics, epidemiological
studies, ovarian cancer screening, early detection, and prevention
of clinical trials with SERMS, molecular mechanisms of action of SERMS,
etc. |

The award is not intended to replace or supplement
the salary of the awardee. |
