Supplement Receives "Award of Excellence"

The "Gynecologic Cancer: What Every Woman Needs to Know" supplement, developed by GCF for the Washington Post, and designed to promote education and awareness of gynecologic cancers, was well worth the countless hours of work by many who helped in its creation. Hitting the newsstands on Tuesday, May 7, 2002, both in hard copy and online, the supplement has reached several million readers.

The supplement was so well received that the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) awarded GCF a 2003 Award of Excellence. Over 300 applications were submitted as part of ASAE's Associations Advancing America Awards Program, which recognizes associations that propel America forward. "GCF's educational supplement is truly a program that embodies the spirit of the Associations Advancing America Award. It is an honor and inspiration to showcase this activity as an example of the many contributions associations and foundations are making to advance American society," said ASAE President Michael S. Olson, CAE.

Thank you to Aventis Pharmaceuticals for providing an unrestricted grant to support this supplement.
