African-American Women's Course
Over 200 women are registered to attend an awareness course specifically geared toward bringing gynecologic cancer awareness to African-American women in the New Orleans area. Dr. Groesbeck Parham, who proposed this course, along with Drs. Ronda Henry-Tilman and Michael Hicks, are addressing issues such as the role of nutrition and exercise in prevention, prevalence of the disease in African-American women, as well as what factors put women at risk.
The program will take place on February 1, 2003 at the Desire Street Ministries, 3600 Desire Parkway from 9:00 a.m. - Noon. The CURE Organization, GCF and its HPV & Cervical Cancer Campaign are sponsoring this course.
