Chairman's Letter

I can already feel the excitement brewing as we plan for another successful Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month (GCAM) this September.

Many new and different opportunities are on the horizon to further support our mission. Several wonderful events recently occurred in the area of public outreach.

• GCF recently secured a partnership with the Gillespie Fund for Life, which will give us access to over $200,000 to support uterine cancer outreach programs.
• Fran Drescher just wrapped up shooting a public service announcement for GCF as well as posed for several photographs for GCF to utilize in future ads.
• Our friends at Panzer Motorcycles are traveling across the United States to raise awareness and money for GCF.
• We placed our two current public service announcements in numerous magazines.

To support our commitment to research, we mailed the 2001-2002 research booklet to all SGO/GCF members and fellows in training. Don’t forget—the deadline for all research grants/awards applications is August 31, 2001.

To make room for all of our wonderful activities, I’ll keep my message brief. Please keep in mind as you read the following articles that our successes begin with your support. And as you’ll see, we have many accomplishments to be proud of!
