GCF Continues to Work for You - Your 2003 Donation Now Makes Twice the Difference
By Richard R. Barakat, MD, GCF Membership Committee Chair
In 2003 the Gynecologic Cancer Foundation (GCF) experienced another great year with the introduction of many new publications and projects to further our mission. And, we could not have done it without your support. Your assistance has helped us raise awareness about gynecologic cancers through many avenues, such as the following accomplishments:
- The release of the "State of the State of Gynecologic Cancers-First Annual Report to Women
of America."
- The development and production of The New York Times Supplement - "What Every Woman Should Know about Gynecologic Cancers," which appeared on June 17 and June 22, 2003, and reached over 5 million readers. It was also translated into Spanish.
- Our enhanced Women's Cancer Network Web site (www.wcn.org).
- A record number of research grants and awards, and an agreement with the National Cancer Institute to support a new scholar's program.
Your past contributions have helped make these efforts, and others, possible. GCF appreciates and encourages your continued support. We hope you can take a moment to complete the enclosed pledge card, or donate online at www.wcn.org, to help GCF support its mission.
GCF is thrilled to announce that 1stMED has agreed to match every dollar GCF members donate in 2003 and 2004 up to $10,000 per year. GCF contributions are fully tax-deductible.
