GCF Urges Involvement in New Scholar's Program with National Cancer Institute
The Gynecologic Cancer Foundation (GCF) is pleased to announce a program jointly sponsored by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) directed to facilitate additional investigative training for clinician-scientists with a dedicated interest in gynecologic malignancies. The research will be performed at the NCI Bethesda and satellite campuses in Maryland under the direction of an NCI mentor.
The purpose of the program is to support the development of outstanding clinician research scientists. The award supports up to a two year period of supervised research experience that integrates didactic studies with laboratory or clinically based research. The experience is intended to be of both intrinsic research importance and be a vehicle for learning the methodology, theories and conceptualizations necessary for a well trained independent researcher. Each of the sponsoring organizations (GCF and NCI) will award a salary of $50,000 per year, per organization (or $100,000 per fellow, per year).
Full, Associate, Candidate or applicants for Candidate Membership of the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists (SGO) or Fellows-in-Training in Gynecologic Oncology are urged to apply for this program.
For more information on the program, or to apply, visit www.wcn.org/gcf/research or call GCF Headquarters at 312/673-5983.
