GCF Allied Support Group Welcomes Two New Members

On September 18, the 21 member organizations of our Allied Support Group met to update each other on new and current programs, as well as work on the development of a mission statement for the group and some strategic planning. GCF is pleased to welcome our two most recent additions to the group: CancerCare and The Lynne Cohen Foundation for Ovarian Cancer Research.

CancerCare is a national non-profit organization whose mission is to provide free professional help to people with all cancers through counseling, education, information and referral and direct financial assistance.

The Lynne Cohen Foundation for Ovarian Cancer Research is an organization created in memory of Lynne Cohen who dedicated her life to the well-being of others. The mission is to continue her spirit of giving by supporting groundbreaking research to improve the survival rates for women with ovarian cancer.

"The Allied Support Group continues to welcome, to its membership, national advocacy organizations that enhance awareness, prevention and care of women at risk or affected by gynecologic cancers. Our two most recent members certainly embrace this mission," comments Ronald D. Alvarez, MD, GCF Advocacy Committee Chair.

GCF is thrilled to have both CancerCare and The Lynne Cohen Foundation for Ovarian Cancer Research as members of this important group.
