Taking Women's Health Issues to the Hill
Sometimes, a picture is worth a thousand words, and often, those pictures help make a very strong case when dealing with someone without a medical or scientific background. This was the case when SGO President Karl Podratz, MD, Ph.D. met with lawmakers in Washington to discuss women's health issues. During his meetings, Dr. Podratz spoke about the WCN website as a prime resource for creating awareness about women's cancers.
The response on Capitol Hill was immediate and enthusiastic. Representative Gil Gutknecht (R-MN) has linked his congress-ional website to the WCN website and will be sending a letter to his House colleagues promoting the website. GCF is now in the process of making sure our WCN website is included in the Congressional Record, the nation's official journal of House and Senate proceedings.
