Another Leap for Annual Frog Jog
Once again, the annual Frog Jog raised $10,000 for the Gynecologic Cancer Foundation (GCF). This gift matches the amount raised last year, when the event was initiated.
Hosted by the Frog Jog Running Club of San Francisco, California, the 5K/10K event attracted approximately 725 runners and walkers to take part in the fun run at San Franciscos Golden Gate Park. More than half of the participants were women.
Volunteers make this fund-raiser a success. Twenty-five volunteers took part in the planning and 100 volunteers pulled it all together on race day. Donating her time, Lisa Sandles, MD, a GCF board member, represented the Foundation at the race. She provided important information on gynecologic cancer to race participants while manning the GCF booth.
Event organizer Kim Musick established the annual Frog Jog in memory of her mother, a frog lover who died of gynecologic cancer. To volunteer, or for more information about the annual fund-raiser, contact Musick at 510.283.5366.
The next Frog Jog is scheduled for August 9, 1998.
