Chairman's Message

A lot has transpired since the last edition of the Bulletin, and I'm very, very excited about the present and the future of the Gynecologic Cancer Foundation. I have been quite humbled by my election as Chairman of the Foundation, and I accept the honor with some reservation. I am following in mighty big footsteps, and want to assure the members of the Foundation that I will do everything in my power to ensure the success of our Foundation. Dr. Lewis has revived the Foundation and we are off and running.

I am fortunate to have a magnificent staff at GCF Headquarters. I am also happy that the chairpersons of the various committees and Board will remain in place. This will provide tremendous stability and continuity.

I am sure that everyone who had the opportunity to attend our most recent meeting in Phoenix found the activities of the Foundation to be quite exciting. I remain enthusiastic about our Foundation, and we shall make every effort to be successful in our charge.

I believe that our mission is multifaceted, including education of those for whom we care about the most, our patients and potential patients. On the political scene, our support of research endeavors so we can remain on the cutting edge is crucial. We are making every effort to secure the success of our Fellowship and our presence at the National Cancer Institute, and we have made tremendous strides to guarantee this success.

I would like to conclude by saying that this is your Foundation, one that we should all take a lot of pride in. It is working for every member of the Society and all those interested in its mission and will continue to do so. It obviously needs the dedication and support of everyone. I will make every effort to see that our Foundation continues its remarkable success. I encourage you to contact me with any suggestions or comments you may have.
