Larry King Named GCF 1997 Public Service Award Recipient
On September 10, the Larry King Live show brought discussions
of ovarian cancer into the homes of thousands of Americans.
The GCF 1/800 "Information Hotline" number was displayed for
viewers during the show, inspiring more than 5,000 calls in September alone.
A woman from Pennsylvania was so impressed by the show that she contributed
$10,000 to GCF.
For his efforts in raising public awareness, Larry King was selected
to receive GCF's 1997 Public Service Award. The presentation of this award
will be made in March in Los Angeles, Calif.
