News Release Program Highlights Research Advances in Gynecologic
Oncology Journal
In an effort to focus attention on newsworthy advances published
each month in SGO's journal, Gynecologic Oncology, a news
release program was launched earlier this year. A review committee
selects the most appropriate article for media release.
A news release is then drafted in consultation with the author and
is sent to both consumer and trade media.
This program has been successful to date in increasing public
awareness of this SGO-sponsored journal and the important information
related to gynecologic oncology which it carries. The success of this
program will be determined by the number of media sources which carry
the release as news. Experience indicates that the rate of success
increases in relation to the duration of the program and the quality
and interest of the scientific work.
