GCF 1-800 Information Hotline Reaches Thousands

The GCF supports a toll-free number that consumers can call for information about gynecologic malignancies. The GCF "Information Hotline" (1-800-444-4441) has been an integral part of the GCF's effort to provide information to thousands of people interested in finding out more about gynecologic cancers and the specialists who treat them.

Since its launch in November 1994, this GCF 1/800 number has received an average of 995 calls each month requesting information and lists of gynecologic oncologists in a given area. All members of SGO/GCF are included in this database. In area codes with more than one gynecologic oncologist, the sequence of names is randomly altered with each call. Callers may also request an informational brochure, "Active Prevention" either by fax or by mail, or the full directory of all SGO members by mail. They can also learn how to reach the GCF by telephone, mail, fax or e-mail.
