1999 Summit Award The Gynecologic Cancer Foundation's Women's Cancer Network web site won top "Summit" honors in the 1999 Associations Advance America Awards, a national competition sponsored by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), Washington, DC. GCF received the award for its Women's Cancer Network web site in San Diego in late August in gala ceremonies at ASAE's annual meeting. Now in its ninth year, the prestigious Associations Advance America Awards recognizes associations that propel America forward - with innovative projects in education, skills training, standards-setting, business and social innovation, knowledge creation, citizenship and community service. Although association activities have a powerful impact on everyday life, they often go unnoticed by the public. "WCN's program truly embodies the spirit of the Associations Advance America campaign. It is an honor and an inspiration to showcase this activity as an example of the many contributions associations are making to advance American society," remarked ASAE President Michael S. Olson, CAE. ASAE is the world's leading membership organization for the association management profession, with over 25,000 members. For more information, contact WCN at info@thegcf.org. |
