GCF been honored with an Award of Excellence in the third and final round of judging in the 2001 Associations Advance America (AAA) Awards program, sponsored by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).

Now in its 11th year, the AAA Awards recognize associations and industry partners that advance American society with innovative programs in education, skills training, standard setting, business and social innovation, knowledge creation, citizenship and community service.

Selected by a panel of peers three times a year, Award of Excellence winners are automatically entered into consideration for the Summit Award, ASAE's highest association honor. All AAA Award winners will be honored during ASAE Philadelphia 2001, the society's Annual Meeting and Exposition, scheduled to be held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia August 4-7.

"GCF's Gynecologic Oncology Kit for Medical Professionals truly is a shining example of the  the work being done everyday by associations and Foundations across the country to better our communities and quality of life," said ASAE President and CEO Michael S. Olson, CAE. "The AAA Awards not only recognize associations for their contributions to society, they really tell the story of what associations do to members of Congress and other decision-makers; local and national media; and the general public."

Any association or industry supplier is eligible to enter the AAA Awards.  GCF was one of  the 21 most recent winners were chosen from 188 entries submitted by the May 1, 2001, deadline.

ASAE has a membership of over 25,000 association executives and its core purpose is to advance the value of voluntary associations to society and to support the professionalism of the individuals who lead them.
