The Lynne Cohen Foundation
Founded in 1998 in memory of Lynne Cohen by her three daughters (then in their twenties), the Lynne Cohen Foundation for Ovarian Cancer Research is a nonprofit organization that raises funds to support medical research aimed at detecting ovarian cancer early (when a woman has the best chance for a cure) and cutting-edge treatments for primary diagnoses and recurrences. For women who have an increased risk of developing breast and/or ovarian cancer, the Foundation has established five preventive care clinics for women's cancers at leading cancer centers across the country. These programs provide a unique individualized, comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to cancer screening and prevention. Each woman who participates in the program has access to breast and gynecologic exams and screenings, genetic counseling, lifestyle counseling, educational tools, and the latest early detection and prevention trials all in one place, and in one day. Established in 2005, the Lynne Cohen Consortium allows researchers and scientists from each program to pool data from the diverse high-risk communities they serve with the goal of collaborative, highly-focused investigative work on novel concepts in the screening and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer.
The Lynne Cohen Preventive Care Programs:
- Lynne Cohen High Risk Clinic at Bellevue Hospital Center in New York (for underserved women);
